Spread Kindness and Promote Wellness this Holiday Season

The holiday season is the busiest time of the year. Most people look forward to the holidays with anticipation of happy times spent with family and friends, honoring cherished traditions, and sharing in holiday cheer. Some of the warmest, most favored memories are created during the holidays.

For seniors, however, holidays may bring feelings of nostalgia and melancholy that can lead to the holiday blues.  Whether it’s their concern of health issues, loss of loved ones, or just the sense of growing older, seniors are especially prone to feeling isolated and depressed during this time of year. Take time out of your busy holiday schedule and reach out to the seniors in your life.  A simple phone call or a visit to see if they are in need of anything, or a holiday card, will surely lift their spirits.
